Change to hospital parking charges from 1 July 2023
From 1 July 2023, we will be increasing charges at our patient and visitor car parks at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and Cromer Hospital.
Due to rising costs, we have made the difficult decision to increase fees on Trust-run car parks.
The new charges will be:
- Up to 30 minutes – free
- 30 minutes up to 2 hours – £3.40
- Up to 3 hours – £3.90
- Up to 4 hours – £5.00
- Up to 5 hours – £7.20
- Up to 8 hours – £8.90
- 8 to 24 hours – £13.30
Charges for the hospital park and ride service, which runs from Costessey Park and Ride (510) and Norwich Airport Park and Ride (512), remain unchanged. Costessey Park and Ride costs £1 for patients and visitors and runs every 30 minutes throughout the day.
Money from parking charges goes towards maintaining our car parks, subsiding park and ride services and any surplus we make goes directly into supporting our hospital services.
A range of car park concessions are available for patients and visitors. These include free parking for disabled patients and visitors, and for dialysis patients, patients attending for cancer treatment, and people with a Carer’s Passport.
Simon Hackwell, Director of Strategy and Major Projects at NNUH, said: “Our hospital Trust is not immune to the cost pressures everyone is facing and the Trust Board has had to make some difficult decisions as a result of the challenging financial position. It has been seven years since we changed car parking fees at NNUH and there remains an extensive list of concessions to make parking free or reduce the costs for patients and carers with frequent appointments at our hospital. We would encourage more patients and visitors to use the frequent Park and Ride service from Costessey which is a quick and easy way to get to the hospital.”
