Professional Profile: Marina’s special expertise is Cardiac MRI for adults and children with congenital and inherited heart disease. She has published clinical research and has continually helped to educate junior and senior trainees.
After medical school in Perth, Western Australia, Marina completed a PhD in Infectious Diseases and trained in clinical paediatrics in Oxford, UK. She then saw the light, trained further in paediatric cardiology and became Consultant and Echocardiography Lead at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia.
After moving back to the UK in 2006, Marina worked as Clinical Lead for Cardiac MRI at Great Ormond St Hospital in London, helping to build a leading service, scanning more than 1000 paediatric and adult patients with congenital heart disease per year.
In 2019 Marina worked as Clinical Lead for Adult Congenital Heart Disease at Papworth Hospital. However, imaging is her passion, and since January 2021, she is concentrating on the development of congenital and structural cardiac MRI in East Anglia, both at Norwich and Peterborough.
Personal Profile: She is married, with three near-adult children. Regularly swims, jogs and cycles.
Has completed some mini-triathlons, loves windsurfing and snow-skiing. Interested in landscape and farming, loves growing food, cooking and eating.
