Pioneering Radiology Academy at Nofolk and Norwich
Established in the Autumn of 2005, the Radiology Academy at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is one of only three completely new state-of-the-art facilities in England specially created for training consultant radiologists.
In September 2009 the 5th cohort of Radiology Academy Trainees joined the highly successful Norwich Radiology Training progam bringing the total number to 43. The StRs will benefit from a dedicated training environment at the Academy which includes a large PACS reporting room, teleconferencing facilities, a skills laboratory with ultrasound machines and virtual reality interventional phantoms and seminar rooms designed for teaching and training in radiology. Clinical work takes place both at the Academy and during regular clinical placements at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital and local DGHs.
The aim of the Norwich Radiology Academy is to provide the highest quality structured training in radiology in a purpose built academic training environment.
