COVID – Breast Out-Patient Referrals

There is already clear referral guidance in place with a set proforma for all new referrals to the symptomatic breast clinic.
Usually, these referrals are all booked directly to clinic slots without clinician scrutiny.
As of now, all new breast referrals are being put onto the Out-patient Referral Console for review by a Consultant Breast Surgeon. Referrals will be triaged to one of three pathways:

1. See in one-stop clinic
2. Telephone clinic appointment
3. Reject referral with letter to patient and GP. All FH referrals will be booked directly to a telephone clinic appointment.
