Open visiting with a maximum of two parents/carers/ visitors at the bedside at any one time. One parent/carer can stay overnight on a put-up bed.
All visitors including siblings, bar the resident parent/carer, are able to visit between 10am to 7.30pm, there may be exceptional circumstances where this is flexible and decided by the nurse in charge.

This ward encompasses a broad range of specialities including paediatric medicine and surgery, orthopaedics, ear, nose, and throat, plastic surgery, dermatology, ophthalmology, and oral health. There are dedicated high dependency beds for children requiring high dependency care.

Special instructions

Siblings and children are also welcome to visit but must be supervised by an adult at all times. Parents of babies and young children should be aware of the possible infection risk. We appreciate visitors leaving the ward by 7.30pm (except parents or resident family member).

How to find us

We’re located on Level 2 in the West Block.
Please use the Jenny Lind Children’s Department entrance/s and follow the signs to Buxton Ward.
If you are coming by car and need to park, the closest car park/s are B and C.

If the car park is full, spaces may be available in the public car park opposite A&E, which is operated independently.
