About our Ward

Kilverstone is the Cardiology Ward. With 36 beds we mostly have patients with heart problems such as Heart Attack  (Myocardial Infarction, Coronary, Acute Coronary Syndrome), Angina  and Heart Failure. We work closely with the Coronary Care Unit which is located across the corridor, and the General Medical Day Unit which cares for many of our elective patients.

We also care for patients with pacemakers and heart rhythm problems.

NHS Choices has more information.

Special instructions

  • Unfortunately, we cannot use portable phones to let you speak to patients on infection control grounds. All beds have a Patientline phone at the bedside.
  • We do not allow flowers, small plants or floral displays for safety reasons
  • Our patients are in hospital to rest so we would ask that you bear this in mind.
  • Visitors are reminded to wash their hands, to please not sit on the beds, and to keep visiting down to two people per patient at any one time.
