Dr Shane Gordon: Executive Managing Director (appointed 2025)
Shane Gordon is Executive Managing Director of NNUH and a member of the Group Board of Directors. He was previously Interim EMD of the James Paget University Hospitals Trust for six months. Before that he was Director of Strategy, Research & Innovation at East Suffolk & North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) and has 18 years of senior NHS management experience in transformational change, strategic and local commissioning and acute hospital leadership. He’s also Vice Chairman of the East of England Clinical Senate and a lapsed member of the Royal College of General Practitioners and a member of the Royal College of Surgeons.
Dr Tarnya Marshall: Interim Medical Director (appointed 2026)
Dr Marshall is a Consultant Rheumatologist and has been a Deputy Medical Director since October 2024.
She trained in London and undertook her specialist training in East Anglia, finishing at NNUH. She has contributed in writing the successful bid for the medical school and been module lead for musculoskeletal undergraduate medical teaching at the University of East Anglia. She has previously served as Chair of the Drugs and Therapeutic Committee and Medicine Division Chief of Service.
Her clinical and research interests include inflammatory arthritis and epidemiology having undertaken her MD at UEA and her research interest with the Norfolk Arthritis Register.
Lucy Weavers: Interim Chief Nurse (appointed January 2026)
Lucy trained at NNUH in the 1990s and brings more than 30 years of nursing experience across a wide range of specialties, including paediatrics, NICU, Emergency and Urgent Care, Medicine and Surgery in a career that has taken her to London and Australia.
Over the past decade, she has held senior leadership positions at NNUH, including Deputy Chief Nurse, Divisional Nurse Director for Women’s and Children’s and for Surgery, Emergency and Critical Care.
Chris Cobb: Chief Operating Officer (appointed 2019)
Chris Cobb was appointed as Chief Operating Officer in 2019 after three years as Divisional Director of Operations for Medicine.
Chris joined us in 2005 as an Admin Manager and has developed his career here in a number of management roles, after serving for 20 years in the Royal Air Force.
Clare Hinton: Finance Director (appointed April 2026)
Clare joined us in 2021 as Deputy Director of Finance (Financial Planning and Strategy).
She brings a wealth of experience in NHS finance, having worked in non-acute provider roles, as well as in provider oversight and regulation roles with the Trust Development Authority and NHS Improvement.
Mike Shemko: Head of Data Science (interim)
Mike has more than two decades of leadership experience in healthcare data, digital innovation and AI transformation across the NHS, academia and international health systems. He was previously Head of Data Science at NNUH, focusing on using data science, informatics and AI to improve patient care, operational efficiency and health system resilience.
He is Visiting Professor of Data Science and AI at UEA and a Senior Research Fellow at the UEA Medical School and Norwich Epidemiology Centre. He’s also on several international boards, helping shape collaboration between the NHS, academia and industry in accelerating digital transformation, and is a member of the Strategic Board of the East of England Secure Data Environment Programme. Additionally, he serves as a peer reviewer for BMJ Digital Health & AI, where he contributes to advancing high-quality research and ethical standards in digital medicine.
Linda Martin: Head of Estates and Facilities (interim)
Linda has spent more than 40 years working in estates and facilities, 17 in the NHS as an interim director at both large and small Trusts, including Rotherham, EPUT, Bolton, the Royal Free, UCLH and Great Ormond Street.
Kathryn Jones: HR Director of People & Culture (interim)
