Consultant Cardiologists

Amongst the large group of consultant cardiologists at NNUH specialising in a wide range of cardiac conditions, the ACHD/GUCH specialists are, Dr Catherine Head, Dr Marianna Stamatelatou and Dr Marina Hughes.

GUCH Nurse Specialists

Toni Hardiman Beth Wilson, Chloe Mercer are the GUCH Nurse Specialists, vital to the ACHD service. They provide support to our patients and their families at the time of the clinic visit but also between visits. They carry a phone (9:00-16:30 weekdays) and there is a dedicated email address – so questions (about the clinic visit or new symptoms that worry you), general advice, support and other information is available for patients and families. They are integral in providing a transition from children’s to adult care. They work very closely with other professionals in the community (including learning disability nurses) and other specialist cardiac centres around the UK.

The GUCH Nurse Specialists run a telephone helpline 01603 287292 (answer phone Mon-Fri 9:00-16:30) which is also supported by the rest of the Cardiology Nurse Specialist team if Toni, Beth or Chloe are unavailable. They are also contactable by email nnu-tr.guch@nhs.net.  Evenings and weekends only – if urgent advice needed contact the Cardiology coordinator 01603 286286 bleep 0099.

Other Staff

NNUH is a training hospital for both undergraduates (Norwich Medical School) and postgraduate trainees in cardiology. You may sometimes meet senior specialist cardiology registrars in the clinic but your care will always be overseen by your consultant.

There may be Research Registrar who might contact you to ask for your help in our research programme. We ask that you consider helping us if you can. Without research, we cannot expand our knowledge of the best treatment options in different conditions.
