We are a multi-disciplinary team that is made up of Clinical Scientists (Physicists), Electronic Engineers, Mould Room Technicians and Support Staff. All staff receive a high level of practical and theoretical training, both on-site and by external providers, to ensure they are appropriately skilled to carry out the wide range of tasks they perform.

The Radiotherapy Physics Department works to support the Radiotherapy Department in the treatment of cancer patients. Our work involves taking responsibility for the safe use of all the equipment used for patient treatment in the service, which is accomplished by the appropriate and accurate measurement of scientific data which forms part of our quality assurance programme. The Department is completely networked based, largely paper-free and has a fully incorporated ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System.
