Your cancer experience
Being diagnosed with cancer can be a huge shock to you, your family and friends. It’s very common to feel overwhelmed when you or a loved one has been told you have cancer. Below you will find further information that we hope will explain some of the services and terminology that you might have questions about.

Cancer Care Navigator Team
The Cancer Care Navigator (CCN) team is based at Rouen Road and is managed by Rachel Casey. They are:

The Cancer Care Navigator Team provides information, advice, and support about cancer and non-clinical concerns from diagnosis to discharge for our patients, their carers and companions.
Concerns can include:
- Practical: Finance, work, travel, housing, shopping
- Emotional: Uncertainty, worry, fear, anxiety
- Family/Relationships: Partner, children, relatives, friends
- Spiritual: Faith, spirituality, culture, beliefs, values
- Information/Support: Diet, wellbeing, exercise, physical activity
The team is available to support all NNUH patients who have been diagnosed, are receiving treatment for cancer or who have completed their treatment and are being managed under PCFU/Remote Surveillance or regular follow-up.
The service is available to all patients on confirmed diagnosis.
