General Cardiology Clinic

Most patients referred to a cardiologist as an outpatient or returning for a review attend one of the general cardiology clinics. The clinics generally run from 08:30 – 17:00 hours daily and are usually staffed by a consultant cardiologist, a registrar or a clinical assistant and are facilitated by a team of clinic nurses.

The cardiology outpatient clinics are very busy and it is important that you tell us in good time if you are unable to attend any appointments. Whilst we allocate individual appointment times some people will need tests before seeing the doctor. For this reason the appointment time given is the time you should arrive in the department and is not necessarily the time that you should expect to see the doctor or nurse.

Patients are very welcome to bring someone with them to their appointment but due to limited waiting area space we do request that this is limited to one accompanying person only where possible.

Please feel free to ask any questions that you have during these appointments and if a member of staff can be of any assistance please approach them.
