Thyroid
If you have recently been told you have or are suspected of having thyroid cancer, you will have already met some of the people involved in your care. These health professionals work within a team which is called a specialist Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) which is based at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital. The members of the thyroid cancer MDT are experts at treating and managing cancer.
Conditions Treated:
Initial treatments may depend on factors that your Doctor and Clinical Nurse Specialist will discuss with you. Treatments may include removal of one lobe of the Thyroid gland, removal of the whole Thyroid gland, removal of local Lymph nodes, Radioactive Iodine, Radiotherapy (occasional use only) or surveillance.
