Vision Norfolk
Vision Norfolk is a registered charity whose aims are to help and support the 20,000 people with low vision in Norfolk.
The services that are provided by The Vision Norfolk are:-
Hospital Clinic Services – provide local and national information of a non medical nature to those attending the Eye Clinics either as patients or carers.
Accommodation and Care – Thomas Tawell provides residential and respite care for 37 people. Day care and rehabilitation training are also available. Hammond Court provides 20 supported/sheltered flats in Norwich supported by full time wardens.
Community Visiting Service – Community Workers provide a visiting, advice and support service throughout Norfolk
Equipment Centres – These are situated in Norwich, Cromer, Kings Lynn, Great Yarmouth, Diss and Watton. They provide information, help and advice about daily living aids, information technology and equipment that can be viewed, ordered and/or purchased.
A Mobile Equipment Centre visits towns, villages and schools and has the same function as the static Equipment Centres.
The Bradbury Activity Centre – this was built to house the following:-
The Norwich Equipment Centre, a Low Vision Centre, a Sensory Room, Recording and Braille transcription studios, a Meeting Hall, Rooms for learning Braille, Leisure activities, Social activities, Lectures and Exhibitions.
Sport and Leisure – there is a full programme for all levels and abilities
Volunteers – who are always needed and who support all our activities. They are a vital and essential part of the Vision Norfolk
Charity Shop – open Monday to Saturday 10 am – 4 pm at 140 Magdelen Street, Norwich.
Other services – Free tape and CD library, British Wireless fund for the Blind, Holidays, RNIB Talking Book Service, Magpie News quarterly news letter, Fundraising, Befriending and Telefriends.
