Feedback

We are here to listen to you

It is very important that you feel able to tell us your thoughts and feelings about your care. There are many ways you can raise a concern. If you have a problem, there should always be someone available to listen and help.

  • Are you pleased with the care you have received?
  • Do you need to raise a concern?
  • Do you need to speak to someone?

  • First, try speaking to the midwife, doctor or midwifery support worker looking after you.
  • If you don’t feel like you can speak to them please ask to speak to the ward leader or the matron.
  • You can contact the manager of the day on 01603 286 286 and ask for the maternity manager on call.

If you find that staff cannot help you, or you are not comfortable speaking with them, you can contact PALS (Patient Advice and Liaison Service). PALS is a confidential service designed to support patients, relatives and carers.

PALS can also advise you on the complaints process when required.

Call 01603 289036 or email palsandcomplaints@nnuh.nhs.uk

Feedback Surveys

If you’ve recently used the maternity or neonatal services at NNUH, we’d love to hear about your experience. You can do this by competing one of our short surveys on antenatal, birth, postnatal or NICU care.

These surveys are known as the NHS Friends and Family Test; the responses to the questions will be used to create an overall score that will be published on the NHS website.

All responses are anonymous and will be reviewed on a regular basis by the MNVP team and maternity and NICU leadership.

This important feedback helps us to celebrate, improve and develop the service.

Please complete as many of the surveys as are relevant to you:

Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership (MNVP)

The MNVP is led by a service user lead team who work together to collect feedback from other people who have used the services themselves.

We work with parents, health care professionals, commissioners and charities to help shape and improve local maternity and neonatal services.

We run surveys, hold feedback events, listen to experiences and share the themes with the people who can make changes and improvements.

Our aim is to understand the range of experiences of the families who are cared for under NNUH and objectively feedback to maternity and neonatal services at NNUH. This feedback is then used to build on successes and make improvements where necessary.

How can you get involved?

There are several ways to get involved with the MNVP, get in touch to share your personal experiences, raise an issue or to become a service user representative.
